How it works

Step 1

Have a test ordered

Close-up of a physician placing a test order on her tablet.
Once it’s decided you’re a good candidate for the OncoExTra test, your doctor will need to place an order for the test. Our customer care team is available if you have additional questions about billing, insurance, or payment plans.

Step 2

Have your samples submitted

Close-up of a lab technician collecting a blood sample from a seated patient.
Your doctor will send in a tissue sample of your tumor, previously removed during surgery or biopsy. Meanwhile, your doctor can arrange your blood draw or have Exact Sciences arrange it for you.

Step 3

Get your test results

Patient reviewing test results on laptop at home.
Most OncoExTra results are available approximately 14 days from the date we receive both samples in our lab.1 The test results will be available to view in our Exact Sciences Patient Hub and will be sent to your doctor.

Step 4

Review with your doctor and plan next steps

Senior patient and physician having a serious conversation in an exam room.
You and your doctor will review the results together to choose the most appropriate treatment for your unique cancer.
