The Exact Sciences Community Committee is a group of passionate go-getters who help generate ideas, inform strategy, and take action to give back to the communities in which we live and work. All Exact Sciences employees can apply to join the committee.

The 2021 committee, which kicked off earlier this month, is made up of members who represent a variety of office locations and departments. All are passionate about supporting a culture of community and giving back at Exact Sciences.

Each committee member chooses one of three focus areas: Community Connection, Wellness, and Employee Sponsorship.

  • The Community Connection subcommittee organizes volunteer opportunities with community groups in need of an extra set of hands. All Exact Sciences employees receive 16 hours of volunteer time off, or VTO, to give their time to an organization of their choosing. This year, they are looking forward to growing relationships with new organizations across the country.
  • The Wellness subcommittee collaborates with the Exact Sciences Wellness team to promote holistic health and wellness among the broader Exact Sciences team and within the community. In 2020, this group organized a volunteering event with Madison Forward Garden in Wisconsin and supported Tri4Schools and Community Coordinated Child Care (4-C).
  • Finally, all Exact Sciences employees can submit requests for monetary sponsorships on behalf of a community organization, cause, or event. The Employee Sponsorship subcommittee meets regularly to review these requests. To date, this subcommittee has awarded over $30,000 to community groups.

“The challenges of 2020 didn’t go away with the new year, and we are committed to supporting our communities and providing our team with ways to get involved,” said Sarah Condella, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Exact Sciences. “The Community Committee helps lead the way in keeping Exact Sciences rooted and active in our communities year-round.”
