Swinging and smiling alongside PGA Tour Champion Jerry Kelly, UW-Whitewater junior and Make-A-Wish recipient Natalie Kammer took to the green of the pro-am event at the 2025 American Family Insurance Championship in Madison, Wisconsin.

Kammer lives with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH), a rare condition that causes calcified blood clots in her lungs, making it difficult to breathe and perform daily activities. Despite these challenges, she pursues a degree in marketing and competes on the women’s golf team at UW-Whitewater. In May, the Women’s Golf Coaches Association honored her resilience and determination with the Kim Moore Spirit Award for Division III, which celebrates student-athletes with great spirit, positive attitudes, and mental toughness.

Kammer frequently travels to a treatment center in San Diego, California, during her schooling and breaks. There, a doctor encouraged her to apply for Make-A-Wish. In 2022, the nonprofit granted her wish to attend the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Georgia.

“Being able to go to the Masters and become a patron of Augusta National is every golfer’s dream,” Kammer said.

As a part of the Exact Sciences and Make-A-Wish partnership, Kammer, alongside her father, Brian Kammer, received the two spots in the pro-am, taking the green with Kelly. Her UW-Whitewater golf team teammates were also there to cheer her on.

“It meant honestly everything to be here today,” Kammer says. “I love the game of golf, and it’s just really cool to share that with somebody who’s a professional and has won tournaments and knows everything. I can’t even put it into words, and I haven’t stopped smiling all day.”

Exact Sciences’ Brad Hegg, associate director of commercial services, and Aaron Dixon, senior manager of accounting, SEC reporting, and equity compensation, joined Kammer and her father in the pro-am foursome.

PreventionGenetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Exact Sciences, is a clinical DNA testing laboratory that provides more than 5,000 genetic tests, including those focused on rare pediatric diseases. That led Exact Sciences to work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. 2025 is the third year Exact Sciences has partnered with Make-A-Wish to allocate two spots in the pro-am.

Exact Sciences is proud to support Make-A-Wish through multiple annual partnerships, helping to build stronger communities for all who live, work, and play in the areas we serve.
