On January 18, a sold-out crowd of nearly 400 attendees and sponsors joined us in celebrating 10 years of laughs, survivorship and support at Comedy Against Cancer.

Christina Zaleski did an amazing job presenting at Comedy Against Cancer! She had us all laughing and truly brought the story of her cancer journey from her heart into ours.

She also had a record-breaking year for donations! Christina’s daughter, Lucy surprised us all by auctioning off a beautiful cake for $1,500 and then surprised us again with a 2nd cake! $3,000 was raised just on these cakes! Here are some quotes from that evening as well as a link to her speech. For even more comments and photos of this event you can look up Marshfield Clinic Health System on Facebook.

“Dr . Seydel told me she wasn’t worried about my cancer; my cancer was easy, and she could probably do it with her eyes closed. I said, ‘Please keep your eyes open. I did not pick you as my surgeon because I wanted you to try new tricks. But telling me that she wasn’t worried was actually the best thing that I had heard.

Christi Zaleski—mom, wife, genetic counselor, baking assistant, cheerleader at her kids’ sporting events, and breast cancer survivor— shared her story of strength at this year’s Comedy Against Cancer. After hearing of Christi’s strength, our audience was inspired to support other patients like her and donated nearly $30,000 through our “Share the Care" ask—bringing this year’s total to over $91,000.
