Exact Sciences is committed to addressing health equity and reducing barriers to care within our communities. In June, Exact Sciences launched Funding Opportunities for Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Screening Uptake Strategies, or FOCUS Program to advance this work.
FOCUS will provide funding to community organizations, health foundations, public health organizations, and CRC advocacy groups to expand access to colorectal cancer screening and create affordable pathways to follow-up diagnostic care.
The program’s “request for proposals” (RFP) period is currently open. Awardees will be notified at the end of August for projects running from August 2022 to February 2024.
FOCUS reflects Exact Sciences’ ongoing commitment to meet people where they are and offer solutions to overcome barriers to care, regardless of a patient’s race, ethnicity, gender identity, socio-economic status, or geographic location.
Exact Sciences is interested in supporting programs that incorporate the following interventions:
- Patient/Community Education
- Patient Reminders
- Engaging Community Health Workers
- Reduce Barriers to Care, including Patient Costs
- Promotion of Screening through Small Media
- One-on-one Education
- Provider Assessment and Feedback
- Provider and Professional Education
