In the effort to support those affected by breast cancer, creating spaces where survivors feel seen, heard, and empowered is essential.

"Breast Cancer BaddieCon: Survivorship Reimagined" aims to do just that by celebrating strength, resilience, and community. Exact Sciences sponsored the inaugural patient advocate experience held in Atlanta, Georgia for women of color navigating life after breast cancer, turning it into more than an event--it sparked a movement.

Hosted by For the Breast of Us, an organization that empowers women of color with the resources to navigate survivorship confidently, BaddieCon is redefining the experience of overcoming breast cancer.

“This is the one place where we as Black & Brown Women don’t have to shrink ourselves to fit in!” shares Marissa Thomas, CEO For the Breast of Us.

Why it matters

BaddieCon created a lively, supportive space for survivors to:

  • Share stories in thoughtful panels and breakout sessions
  • Build skills to amplify their voice through advocacy training
  • Recharge through self-care workshops and cultural celebrations
  • Receive hands-on support from trusted partners

Hundreds of “baddies” attended, and dozens of advocates showed up to train and inspire.

“I was proud to represent Exact Sciences at this first-time event,” says Francine Walton, health equity and access senior manager, market access at Exact Sciences. “The company is highly respected by survivors and partnering organizations and clearly viewed as a company with integrity.”

BaddieCon helped Exact Sciences build stronger community connections, honor survivors, and drive our work to detect cancer earlier and reduce care gaps. We’re proud to have been part of this powerful experience and even more excited about what's ahead.
