Exact Sciences’ Nexus One laboratory and warehouse was built in a short amount of time — less than 20 months from groundbreaking to opening — but is long on sustainability. Pending final confirmation, Nexus One is expected to be the first newly constructed biotechnology lab in the state of Wisconsin to receive LEED certification.

Established by the U.S. Green Building Council, Leadership in Environmental Energy Design (LEED) is a framework to create healthy and efficient buildings with a reduced environmental footprint. The most widely used green building rating system in the world, LEED applies to all building types at all phases of development — from new construction to existing facilities.
