Lack of affordable housing is among the most critical issues for families and individuals in Dane County, Wisconsin, where Exact Sciences is headquartered. That’s why we’re proud to be an investor in the newly-created Dane Workforce Housing Fund.

Created by the Economic Stability Council and Madison Development Corporation, the fund will invest private funds to increase access to local affordable housing in Madison and Dane County. The primary goals of the fund are to:

  • Create 500 new affordable workforce housing units in Dane County in the next three years
  • Keep these units affordable for at least 15 years
  • Give a modest rate of return to Socially Responsible Investors
  • Fill a gap in funding without which these workforce units would not be created

The fund is categorized as a socially responsible investment (SRI). Projects supported by the fund so far include:

  • Wisconsin Housing Preservation Corporation’s 39-unit building in Middleton, WI
  • JT Klein and Company's 116-unit building, Limestone Ridge, in Fitchburg, WI

This investment is a part of our continued work to build stronger, healthier communities where everyone can succeed in school, work and life.
