In April 2025, Exact Sciences hosted its first ever Precision Oncology Patient Advocacy Roundtable at its corporate headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin. Led by our Precision Oncology Patient Advocacy team, the event paired seven key internal cross-functional stakeholders with 12 external patient advocacy group leaders to help establish a strategy to improve access to genomic testing (i.e. biomarker testing).

Through the sharing of data and perspectives, the roundtable established a forum for Exact Sciences and advocates to discuss an approach to eliminating disparities in cancer care for all communities.

“I was humbled by the sheer emotion in the room and the shared need for what we were there to do: innovate solutions and create pathways to help serve and protect more patients,” says Lead Patient Advocacy Manager, Precision Oncology, Tawanna Williams. “The overwhelming collaborative spirit worked to inspire us all, and I am confident that each of us left with a little more hope and resources than we arrived with.”

Attending organizations were Touch, the Black Breast Cancer Alliance, Colors of Gastrointestinal Illnesses (COGI), Touch4Life, Tigerlily Foundation, CancerCare, Triage Cancer, UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, and For the Breast of Us.

“We are all better and more effective together, as a collective,” says Williams.
