Ana Hooker, our Senior Vice President of Operations, was named one of Madison Magazine’s “Best of Madison Business 2020” awardees, a talented group that exemplifies the value of diversity in leadership. The award, now in its 20th year, celebrates extraordinary business leaders making an impact in the city.

Ana joined Exact Sciences in 2013 and oversees all laboratory operations, from specimen processing to customer service. In a recent interview with Authority Magazine, Ana shared advice for other women in leadership roles, as well as some of the lessons she’s learned throughout her career.

“I strongly believe in paying it forward. Success isn’t meaningful unless you bring others along with you and provide opportunities to those that otherwise may have not have them. I regularly mentor other women, minorities and other upcoming leaders in my organization. It is important to me to share and be giving of my time. Imagine if each of us took the time to mentor someone for a year — the world would be a better place! … My husband and I also spend quality time doing both academic and fun activities with our ‘little brother’ through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.”
