Students, politicians, business executives, and engaged citizens gathered on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus in September for the third annual Cap Times Idea Fest. Organized by the long-running news outlet, and sponsored in part by Exact Sciences, the event brings together leading voices and unique perspectives to discuss issues confronting south-central Wisconsin and the larger world.

Economic growth was on the agenda, specifically how communities can grow while remaining sustainable, livable and vibrant. Provocatively titled, “How Does Madison Not Become Seattle?” — featured Exact Sciences chairman and CEO Kevin Conroy; Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway and Ruben Anthony, president of the Urban League of Greater Madison. Erik Iverson, CEO of the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), moderated the 40-minute conversation, which can be viewed in its entirety below.
