Since 2018, Exact Sciences has partnered with Milele Chikasa Anana Elementary School through Madison Public Schools Foundation's Adopt-a-School program.

The Adopt-a-School program connects schools and local partners to advance the Madison Metropolitan School District's (MMSD) School Improvement Plan. In this vision, every school in the district prepares all students to graduate ready for college, career, and community.

"We appreciate everything that Exact Sciences has helped us with through our partnership, whether offering their spaces for professional development or volunteering their time,” says school principal Chelsea Elliott. “Every helping hand helps each of our teachers and learners succeed!"

In 2024, Exact Sciences’ funding helped Anana Elementary purchase Lexia licenses for kindergarten through third-grade students. Designed to boost literacy rates for students, the Lexia program helps learners build strong reading foundations and track their progress as they move toward grade-level goals.

Throughout the school year, Exact Sciences team members volunteer at the school by helping set up classrooms, supporting hygiene drives, and more.

This partnership is significant for Kielley Lemkuil, Lead University Relations Specialist at Exact Sciences, whose brother teaches fifth grade at the school.

“Being able to use my volunteer time off to support not only my community but also my brother is something I don’t take for granted,” Lemkiul mentions. “It means a lot that Exact Sciences invests in the communities we’re a part of, especially since my family is helping strengthen them."

In 2024, Adopt-a-School partners contributed more than $700,000 to 62 Madison schools through financial support, volunteer time, and in-kind donations.
